ISHIDA Takashi (1972- ), who spent his late teens in Okinawa, created “moving picture” by repeating the act of drawing lines little by little, and shooting it with a camera. This exhibition introduces, Billowing Light(2015), Film of the Sea(2007), and Gestalt(1999), three newly collected video and film works last year.

Born in Ozato, Okinawa (current Nanjo City), OSHIRO Seitoku is a painter, and a researcher of Okinawan arts and crafts, known for publishing the magazine Ryukyu no Bunka (Culture of Ryukyu).
In this exhibition, his paintings and materials, almost all of them were donated in 2018, are exhibited for the first time, focusing on and examine what Oshiro left in Okinawa.

Biography of OSHIRO Seitoku
Okinawa has a distinct culture born from its unique cultural climate and past; its art has also been greatly influenced by its position and role at various times in its tumultuous history.In this exhibition introduces the flow of Okinawan contemporary art from prewar to modern times.
