Some people may think they cannot touch artworks in art galleries.

TAMANAHA Seikichi Blind Stray Cat (1968)

However, unusually, Chapter 1 allows viewers to touch artworks and feel their mass. So enjoy touching sculptures in the first half.

In the second half, you are not always allowed to touch or feel, but you are welcome to observe the artworks closely and imagine how it would feel like to touch them ‐ soft or hard and heavy or light ‐ in your art exploration.

* Please make sure to GENTY touch the artworks.

Some people may think art is soundless.

YAMASHIRO Kenshin Linked Verse of Water Ⅰ (1992)

However, following the tactile experience of art in "Chapter 1 : "To Touch" is...?", Chapter 2 invites viewers to listen to sound art pieces and experience the synergy of art and sound. You can actually enjoy listening to works of sound art or imagine what you could hear if you were inside an artwork that has no sound.

Some people may think they cannot see artworks up close.

UECHI Hiro A-man (Aicient Times) "The Story teller of the Sea" (2005)

Following the tactile and auditory experience of art in "Chapter 1 : "To Touch" is...?" and "Chapter 2 : "To Listen" is...?, Chapter 3 encourages audiences to focus on visual cues when appreciating art, Take more time and concentrate on looking at art pieces that catch your eye or touch your heart.

For example, you can get up close and observe details, view the entire work from a distance, look down frome the top, bend down and look up, or answer associated questions. This way you can discover new insights and expand your horizons.

Examine the colors and shapes with unbiased eyes, trust your intuition, and unlock your imagination to experience art.

What do you face with in front of an artwork?

GIBO Katsuyuki Here I am (2009)

Now that you have gone through "Chapter 1 : "To Touch" is...?", "Chapter 2 : "To Listen" is...?", and "Chapter 3 : "To Look" is...?" and learned how to use the senses of touch, listening, and sight to appreciate art, Chapter 4 provides opportunities to face with artworks with your own senses. But what does it mean to face?
