Measures taken at the Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (Effective: May 8, 2023)

For Museum Visitors

■ In accordance with the policies of Okinawa Prefecture and the Government of Japan, the Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum will leave the wearing of masks up to the discretion of each individual.
■ However, we may recommend that visitors wear masks during certain events such as lectures and workshops hosted by the museum.
■ Visitors with a fever, cold, or who are otherwise feeling unwell should please refrain from visiting the museum.

Steps taken by the museum to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

■ The wearing of staff masks will be at the discretion of the individual.
■ Contactless thermometers for temperature checks are installed near the entrances and exits of the museum.
■ Hand sanitizing alcohol will be placed near the entrances of the exhibition rooms and at various other locations throughout the museum.
■ Admission may be restricted when the exhibition rooms become crowded.
■ The "Touch and Experience (Hands-On) Room" will be open with the following measures in place.

1. Hours of Operation: (9:00-17:00)
*The room is closed from 12:30-13:30 for cleaning and disinfection.
2. Maximum capacity: 
In order to reduce the density of visitors, the maximum number of people allowed in the room at one time is currently limited to 20 (including staff).
3. Length of use:
If the room becomes crowded, the length of time spent in the room will be limited to 30 minutes per visitor.
4. Experience Kits:
Use of the Kimono Experience Kit will be suspended for the time being.
