The SUKE SUKE Exhibition ―A look inside the world―

What is the SUKE SUKE Exhibition?

A special exhibition offering visitors a chance to feel a world of structure where their digital and analog experiences merge

The Suke Suke Exhibition is an exhibition featuring suke suke (see-through) worlds in an attempt to satisfy the primal curiosity of “wanting to see  things that are not visible,” which we all have cherished since our childhood. By combining the external appearance of various machines, structures, and animals with state-of-the-art imaging technologies, the exhibition introduces how internal functions and structure work and relate with each other. It is designed to pique the curiosity of a broad range of generations from children to adults by taking various approaches, such as letting visitors experience becoming “transparent” and with a display of skeleton specimens and transparent living things.

Some of the contents may be subject to change depending on the status of the spread of COVID-19 infection.
Children of elementary school age and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when entering the exhibition room.

SEE-THROUGH HUMANS

What does it look like inside our body? When you move closer to the screen, your body on the screen become transparent and you can see your skeleton, veins, and muscles inside your body! This is an introductory zone designed to let you have a see-through experience by moving your own body.

SEE THROUGH ANIMALS

What animal has this skeleton? In this zone, visitors guess the external appearance of various animals by watching their skeletons, and think how the internal structure relates to the external appearance.

SEE-THROUGH AQUATIC CREATURES

Transparent fish and jellyfish as well as hermit crabs carrying glass shells are on display. This zone also features  visitors can observe specimens with transparent skin and rainbow skeletons.

SEE-THROUGH THINGS FOR LIFE

How does a piano make sound? How does a car make a turn? A transparent piano, an inside-observable car, etc. are on display in this zone so that visitors can touch, ride, and feel how the internal mechanisms of some familiar products work.

VARIETY OF SEE-THROUGH EXPERIENCES

What is inside the box? How does a cross section of a ball look like? There is a magic monitor that shows inside when viewers wear see-through glasses. Also, there is a section in which visitors imagine and draw the inside of an object. The zone offers various see-through experiences.

SEE-THROUGH OKINAWA

Exhibiting skeletons exclusive to the Okinawa venue, including a full-body skeletal specimen of a humpback whale!
