Wonderful World of Bugs Exhibition

Hate bugs? This exhibit might change your mind!

昆虫時間

Bugs…do you like them?
With the increasing urbanization of residential areas, there is now a big gap between the spheres of life of people and insects. Opportunities to see insects are decreasing, and at the same time, the percentage of people who feel that they "dislike or dislike insects" is increasing rapidly.

In this exhibition, you will be introduced to the Wonderful World of Bugs. The artwork in this collection features a unique blend of insects and art created by Seita Minei, a teacher with the Apollo Science Classroom. As the title suggests, this exhibition is designed specifically for all of you bug haters out there! This exhibition just might change your mind!

Strategy for enjoying the Wonderful World of Bugs Exhibition

So, in order to help prepare you for your visit and make it as enjoyable as possible, I have designed the following three-step strategy.

▼ STEP 1 of 3

作品との間は1mをキープ

First, start by appreciating the artwork from about 1 meter away. And if you begin to feel more comfortable, you can start to get a little bit closer to the item for a better look. If at any point you start to feel like—“Oh no! I can’t handle this!!!”—then feel free to skip the artwork and move on to the next item.

▼ STEP 2 of 3

脚のげじげじなどにはモザイクフィルターを。

Next, in order for you to be able to concentrate and appreciate the beauty of these bugs, we have applied a special filter to mask out the parts of the bugs that might seem creepy to those who don’t typically like bugs. Also, don’t worry —the bugs will never suddenly start to move or do anything else that might be startling.

▼ STEP 3 of 3

湧き上がる気持ちを内省しましょう。

Take time to notice the feelings and thoughts that start to well up in your heart and mind when observing the works of art in this exhibit.

By intentionally seeking out the good aspects of these works, you can learn to manage or overcome those aspects of insects that you find difficult. You might be surprised to discover how much your “Likes and Dislikes” are potentially being influenced by prejudice or by the opinions of others around you.

So, are you ready to get started?
For all you bug haters out there, Welcome to the Wonderful World of Bugs!Today could mark the beginning of a new era in your life — a day when your world got a little bit bigger and brighter.
