Maywa Denki Nonsence Machine in Okinawa

An exhibition of fascinating artistic inventions!

明和電機

Are they an electronics store? No, they are artists!

Maywa Denki is an artistic unit formed in 1993 by Nobumichi Tosa. In the 30 years since its formation, it has created numerous "nonsense (super common sense) machines" for the world. In particular, the "Otamatone," an adorable electronic musical note-shaped instrument, has attracted attention from all over the world and has caused a whirlwind of amazement and laughter among those who have seen it.

What Japan needs now more than ever! It is "super common sense!”

This exhibition traces the history of Maywa Denki and generously introduces the secrets of Mr. Tosa's creative "ideas" and his ability to turn ideas into reality, along with other valuable materials.
Don't miss the gallery talk called "Product Briefing" in which the president himself will talk about his works, as well as live performances and other events.
